Calls on the Commission to support the full implementation of the DCFTA through coordinated assistance, with a focus on sustainable economic development, in line with the European Green Deal, support for SMEs and structural reforms, in cooperation with business and civil society, including a comprehensive reform of the banking and financial sectors to combat money laundering and tax evasion; 31. On 16 September, the European Parliament (EP) adopted the report on the implementation of the EU Association Agreement (AA) with Georgia with 552 abstentions, 61 `no` votes and 78 abstentions. The document positively assesses Georgia`s progress in adopting reforms and laws, as well as the agreement reached on 8 March between the main political parties, but describes the situation of the judiciary as “worrying due to shortcomings in the judicial selection process and a number of cases against the opposition, which has raised concerns about the impartiality of the judicial system”. The report also stressed that “Georgia continues to face considerable external challenges, including a deterioration of the situation in its occupied regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali/South Ossetia and cyber attacks linked to Russian actors.” One….
